Moving Image Research

This is the kind of movement created into the simple shapes i was looking for, this allows you to flick between frames easily and seamlessly. something that i will try and emulate.

like the two videos below i am looking further into the different way to portray info graphics for my opening title sequence.. i am aiming to use a combination of basic shapes and image for this, based around north korea. and the outrageous facts about the country and its leader, the purpose of the video is to amuse and to inform, something that a lot of info graphics don't do.

TakePart: Participant Media - Waiting For 'Superman' - Infographic from Jr.canest on Vimeo.

great example of of successful communication through info graphics using type and image. This is exactly the kind of thing i want for my opening sequence, clarity in colour and message is exsacly what i want to do. The basic shapes used as the basis of the design. However i do believe there could more use of movement with in the piece.

what i like about this video is the way in which the graphs etc appear to move, and are interactive with the other aspects of the video. something i want to emulate in my video.

this is an example of info graphics in after effects although not a very interesting topic, the purpose is to highlight the facts, what i will need to do is making them interesting, unlike this video,i can use camera movements to try and give the effect of movement making it more interesting or the on looker.

although this isnt the most relevant style of film. Hals way through the pantones begin making shapes of the globe, which is the kind of think i want to happen in my sequence but with basic shapes, this is just a good piece of reference for further development of my idea.

Countdown - HD from Desrumaux Celine on Vimeo.

I have uploaded this clip as it again demonstrates how effective the use of basic shapes and colour can be.. i could incorporate this theory into info graphics.

what i like about this video is the use of 2d shapes and the way layering them together can produce something that can give the effect of 3 dimensional work. Using layers allows the frames to remain fresh, an interesting to the on lookers.  this is something that i will take forward into my own sequence.

Here you can see the title sequences for xmen first class the film. What i like about these clip, is purely the way in which basic shapes have been used to creating an interesting, in some cases 2d film this is something that i could apply to my own sequences, using the basic shapes to create info graphics, the colour scheme is also cool. with the blurs being different colours.

Looks That Kill - HD from Yuki 7 on Vimeo.

A Year of Sun with Mr. Persol - HD from Yuki 7 on Vimeo.

i like the style of these two videos, the animation is life like, so the on looker feels the realism which evokes emotion. especially in the persol ad. What i could take from these two ads is the way they have used two d type and image to the fullest.. creating interesting angles to look at. i also really like the logo, used on the top video. i think i will come up with a logo for the north korean tourism agencies.

Ericsson CES 2012 Keynote Film from Onesize on Vimeo.

This video evokes emotion when it watched.. this is something that i can take the piss out of in my own work, in the sense that with in this video, there is info graphics proving the might of Ericsson, i could prove the 'might' of north korea in a satirical manner, continuing with the infographocs. inspirational narration and music. Perhaps it could be the top ten reasons to visit north korea? so take the piss out of the fact that they have closed borders and the standard holiday ad on tv here. /?

FOX CLASSICS - Forever Classic ID - A Full Minute from The DMCI on Vimeo.

What i like about this video is the way it moves flowingly through out the entirety, from different frame.
the colour scheme is used well, i without over complicating. What i would like to try and emulate in my own work is how this video moves between key frames. Although it is unobtainable in after effects to get the 3d effect shown here.
